MORE ABOUT BLUE STAR RANCH:TESTIMONIALS
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) was first brought to the attention of the medical community by war veterans. Hence the name “battle fatigue” and “shell shock syndrome.” However, PTSD can occur in anyone who has experienced a traumatic or series of traumatic events. As with most mental health problems, PTSD is a result of many factors, including the severity of the trauma experienced and even how a person’s chemical makeup processes that trauma.

Based in Newhall, CA Blue Star Ranch was featured in the Santa Clarita Magazine recently.

Blue Star Ranch - Our Veterans, A Silent Majority
Santa Clarita Magazine, December 29, 2019
They are trained to sacrifice themselves for us on the home front. They do it with patriotism and pride in our country and way of life. They do it for their families and all American families. Yet many civilians treat them like the enemy, even though they (the civilians) do not know why.

Spouses know that the person that left to protect our country was their beloved family member. And they spend hours praying their loved one will return to reunite with them. When they do there is great joy and celebration. This can last several weeks or months, until the spouse realizes that the person that came home was not the same person that left. They don’t understand why they can no longer communicate with their spouse. They don’t understand the things that are happening every day. So, I am going to attempt to give you a little peek into the life of our PTSD veterans.

ABOUT THE FOUNDERS OF BLUE STAR RANCH
Nancy Zhe Founder of Blue Star Ranch

The ranch was founded by Nancy and John Zhe. Nancy spent 27 years designing equine therapy programs for children and adults with various life challenges i.e.; disabled children and adults, at-risk youth, recovering coma patients, recovering cancer patients, senior citizens, and so forth. John served two tours in Vietnam and knows first hand how difficult the adjustment is when soldiers return home.

Nancy and John met in 2006, married in 2008, and founded Blue Star Ranch in 2014. They are joined by a wonderful staff, advisory board, and simply unique equine therapists.
