CAMPFIRE CAFE FEATURED GUEST - LORI BETH BROOKE
An accordionist, yodeler, singer, and song-writer from Austin, Texas
LORI BETH BROOKE is a native Texan with German heritage. She grew up on a dairy farm in Nordheim, just southeast of San Antonio. Before she started elementary school she was already on the piano bench. At seven, finally big enough to hold an accordian she learned her first polka. By twelve she was writing her own songs. She has performed in a broad range of genres and is an award winning yodeler. Within the last few years Western music captured her imagination and lassoed her heart. Lori Beth continues to write songs and believes the Western music genre allows her to realize her full potential as both a songwriter and a performer.
You'll enjoy this
TEXAS STAR, Lori Beth Brooke!

SEPTEMBER 10, 2020 THE WRITER'S BLOCK RADIO SHOWSHOW #274 A CONVERSATION WITH GINGER GAFFNEY
An alternative prison ranch in New Mexico conducts a daring experiment: setting the troubled residents out to retrain an aggressive herd of horses. The horses and prisoners both arrive at the ranch broken in one way or many— the horses often abandoned and suspicious, the residents, some battling drug and alcohol addiction, emotionally, physically, and financially shattered.
GINGER GAFFNEY’s job is to retrain the untrainable. With time, the horses and residents form a profound bond, and teach each other patience, control, and trust. Tune in for an engaging hour with Ginger Gaffney, author of
HALF BROKE, to hear more about her unique experience and the challenges she faced capturing it for the reader.
