SHOW #289 A CONVERSATION WITH CHRIS HUMPHREYS
REMEMBER WHEN YOU SAW YOUR FIRST UNICORN? I do! My first encounter was at the The Cloisters in NYC when I was about the same age as the main character, Alice-Elayne, in the page turning fantasy, adventure THE HUNT OF THE UNICORN. The famous UNICORN TAPESTRIES, a collection of seven, can be viewed at The Cloisters and provided the inspiration for this fantastic book. ----Bobbi Jean Bell, Co-Host The Writer's Block Radio Show
CHRIS (C.C.) HUMPHREYS has played Hamlet in Calgary, a gladiator in Tunisia, and a dead immortal in Highlander; he’s waltzed in London’s West End, conned the landlord of the Rovers Return in Coronation Street, commanded a starfleet in Andromeda, and voiced Salem the cat in the original Sabrina. One of his series, The Tapestry Trilogy, includes The Hunt of the Unicorn, The Hunt of the Dragon, and The Hunt of the Shapeshifters.
A playwright, his plays have been produced in Calgary, Vancouver and London. He has published 20 novels including The French Executioner, The Jack Absolute Trilogy; Vlad – The Last Confession; A Place Called Armageddon; and Shakespeare’s Rebel. His novel Plague won the Arthur Ellis Award for Best Crime Novel in Canada in 2015.
