SCVTV Presents The OutWest Concert Series:
An Evening with G.T. Hurley

Cowboy Singer/Songwriter, G.T. HURLEY breeds ranch raised Quarter Horses and makes his home under the shadows of the Crazy Mountains in Montana.  Living, and working in the ranching community, he writes about the West as he sees it.  Nominated by the Western Music Association in 2012 and again in 2013 for The Crescendo Award, he performs at popular festivals throughout the West including Heber City, Utah, Durango, Colorado, Elko, Nevada and Sierra Vista, Arizona.  Opening for entertainers such as Baxter Black and Jon Chandler, G.T. plays the same stages as top performers Michael Martin Murphey, Dave Stamey, Juni Fisher, and Sons of the San Joaquin. His album, “Tough Horses,” was produced by renowned Cowboy Entertainer, Dave Stamey.  “Tough Horses” was #1 on the Top 30 Album Play List for Western CD’s. "War Horses," his second album, was produced by Brenn Hill.

What others are saying. This is from an interview dated June 12, 2014 with GT Hurley and Jennifer Dennison of Western Horseman Magazine:
This spring, Hurley released his second CD, War Horse, produced by fellow cowboy singer-songwriter Brenn Hill.
“It’s not as traditional as it probably should be to some folks,” Hurley says. “But it is a reflection of who I am musically, and that is what I want to make sure I offer my fans. I want to be known as an artist with integrity.”

War Horse is a collection of songs about horses, cowboys, soldiers and miners, most of which were written by Hurley based on true stories.
“The title track has an interesting story,” Hurley says. “In 1991, I was getting ready to go on [Operation] Desert Storm and there was a fellow Marine in my unit who had a Colt .45 from 1911 in his holster. At that time we carried 9-milli- meter Berettas, so I asked why he had that Colt. He explained that he had just married and his father-in-law, who was a Marine in World War II, carried that pistol when he landed on the beach of Hiroshima, Japan. The song is about a 1911 pistol coming off an assembly line, being carried into battle and then being handed down to a Texas Ranger.”
