Campfire Cafe Radio Show, July 6, 2017 Podcast
From the Book Jacket:
He was the King of the Cowboys. She was the Queen of the West. They were the idols of boys and girls everywhere who thrilled to their exploits in the movies or on TV and grew up humming their theme song, "Happy Trails."
They were the author's idols as well. But they were also her parents.
Cheryl Rogers-Barnett practically grew up on the Republic Studios lot where her parents made their great movies.
Cowboy Princess: Life with My Parents, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans tells the story of Cheryl's beloved parents from a point of view that is uniquely hers. It's filled with hilarious and touching stories of their relationship with each other and with their children and includes countless behind-the-scenes stories of Roy and Dale's movies, television appearances, and music. Leavening the warm and illuminating stories and memories are dozens of rare photographs-family snapshots, studio portraits, behind-the-scenes stills-most of which have never been published in a book and many of which have never been published anywhere.
For fans of the King of the Cowboys and the Queen of the West-and for anyone interested in the great performers of yesteryear-this book provides an up close and personal introduction to Roy Rogers, Dale Evans, their family, and the many colorful characters who rode beside them on those happy, happy trails.
About the Authors:
Cheryl Rogers-Barnett is the eldest daughter of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans. Together with her husband, Larry, she is the publisher of The Double R Bar Ranch News, the official newsletter of the Roy Rogers Riders Club. She resides in Utah.

"There comes a time in every rightly constructed boy's life that he has a raging desire to go somewhere and dig for hidden treasure."
-------Mark Twain, Writer and Humorist
From the Book Cover:
Shelby Ferris and David Carson, seniors at Texas A&M, have shared a long friendship. On their last spring break trip before graduation, they set out to discover the secrets of the Ghost Lights of Marfa. Despite their many adventurers and discoveries, nothing could prepare them for what they encounter one lonely night on the West Texas prairie. They discover a cold, dark cave ... a gateway to a world where history meets legend. They find a place known only to the long-lost civilizations of the Anasazi, the Nephilim, and the Tekoans. It’s a world of danger that casts a glint of understanding on many of the dark, unanswered hollows in our own history.
Their courageous journey illustrates the character of the American spirit. Shelby and David display the strength of solid, unblemished character as they battle ancient myths and solve grand mysteries. It is a story embraced in scientific fact while enjoying the latitude of scientific fantasy.

Soul Of The West
Clint Bradley
Bluelight Records
Released January 25, 2019
From our Purveyor of Music:
We've been eagerly awaiting the arrival of Clint Bradley's and the Clint Bradley Band's newest music project, "Soul of the West," since the release of his first highly acclaimed CD, "Riding After Midnight." Bradley believes this music is the "best thing I've ever done" and the music reviewers and fans agree!
Reviews:
I couldn't wait for the arrival of "Soul of the West" in its entirety. From the opening jaunty song, "Six Guns, Spurs, and Saddles" to the final notes of the dramatic "Joshua's Yellow Boy" Bradley takes us on a journey of the West that calls him home. His lyrics and musical choices are a voice needed in Western music. There are songs that follow in the steps of the great songwriters and singers that inspire him but there are songs that only his poetic heart could write. He sings of the Old West and the Contemporary West, of the landscape and the cowboy, of love and pain, of justice and injustice, and he calls us to embrace the Liberty Wind coming our way. All these elements are blended into a compelling story beautifully brought to life by the extraordiinary musicians of the Clint Bradley Band. A must have!
----Bobbi Jean Bell - 2018 IWMA DJ/Radio Program of the Year "Campfire Cafe,"
Host "OutWest Hour"
You'd have to go back to the very best of Marty Robbins, to find anything as good as this. I think Clint Bradley has just done the equivalent of deliverying a container-load of Colt 45's to Dodge City. He's also helping to put the western back in the country.
-----Duncan Warwick - 5 Star Review - Country Music People - February 2019l
If there's any justice, Clint Bradley's delightful new album of sweet western music should be heard on every radio station in the land.
-----David Allan - Country Music People - February 2019
A man who giants like Gene Autry, Bob Nolan and Marty Robbins could nod to as one of their own.

Throw Down The Box
John Bergstrom
WSOM Music, Released 2009
From Singer/Songwriter John Bergstrom:
Somewhere between Gene Autry and Burl Ives, this CD is full of the humor and pathos of the Old West. "Throw Down the Box" is my second project presenting original and traditional songs of adventure, tragedy and fun in the West.
The title song, "Throw Down the Box" tells the story of the Northern California outlaw Black Bart, also called the Gentleman Bandit. Another outlaw ballad is "Salomon Pico." Pico, a member of one of the prominent families in pre-Gold Rush California, legend has it became an outlaw as an act of revenge. You'll also find songs about the great Sidekicks of Western movies, life in the high desert, and a couple of traditional songs, "Frankie and Johnny," and "The Philosophical Cowboy," to round out the program.

Western State O'Mind
John Bergstrom
WSOM Music, Released 2007
From Singer/Songwriter John Bergstrom:
I'm a child of the west...the far west...Los Angeles. I'm a city kid who has always loved the open spaces. I was raised on cowboy movies and western displays at museums wherever I could find them.
A few years ago, I attended a concert performed by Michael Fleming's group, New West. There began my journey with the WMA (Western Music Association). I was invited to a Sunday jam and I began to learn and write Western music.
I've been involved with music all my life and have touched western music at various times. It's been these last few years, however, in which I focused on this form of traditional music to the exclusion of others. During this time, I played with two or three groups and began to write and work on my own CD, "Western State O'Mind." I look forward to the days ahead and plan to continue writing and performing and spreading the good news of western music. "Western State O'Mind" is a combination of original and traditional songs.
