Riding For The Brand
Kerry Grombacher
Released: 1999

From our Purveyor of Music:
It was with great pleasure that I met singer/songwriter/performer Kerry Grombacher at the annual Western Music Association Conference and Showcase in 2011 and 2012. I had the opportunity to participate in engaging and informative workshop for professional musicians he led with another OutWest past performer, Juni Fisher. Although not a performer myself, I gleaned insight into the entertainer's world that I've applied to the OutWest Concert Series. Kerry Grombacher is unlike any other performer we've hosted - a unique voice and view of our western history, at times with wonderful Cajun flair,  and a masterful storyteller. There is something for everyone in his performance - folk with a western flair. We are so pleased to feature him on Around The Barn in July and with a live performance at the Repertory East Playhouse in October. Join us!

From the CD Liner Notes - Written by Jean Prescott of Abilene, TX
Riding for the Brand is Kerry Grombacher's second recording of contemporary cowboy and western songs, and it reveals Kerry's love of western folklore. His thought-provoking lyrics and innovative arrangements blend and intertwine to provide the listener with a delightfully colorful look at the west through the eyes of one who "came late to this country" - Kerry's own words in his lively swing tribute to the late and much loved western swing pioneer, Ray Reed. Although Kerry has only been writing and performing western music for a few years his sill as a songwriter is evident in this recording. From the touching "An Old Cowboy Growing Older," a poignant song about a dyng cowboy's remembrances, to the lovely "Morning Comes to Mission Santa Fe," a beautiful border love song, Kerry's songs will warm your heart and stir your emotions. Many times in life my trail has joined the trails of others on a similar journey and I have been blessed. I am pleased to travel the trails of western music with my friend, Kerry Grombacher. ---Jean Prescott
